Our Faith . . .
Scripture. We believe the Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of God's will for the salvation of humanity and the final authority for all Christian faith and life.
God. We believe in one God, the Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully Man, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into Heaven, where, at God's right hand, He intercedes for his people and rules as Lord over all.
Holy Spirit. We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age, to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. Through the proclamation of the Gospel, He persuaded us to repent of our sins and confess Jesus as Lord. He also indwells, guides, instructs, and empowers us for godly living and sacrifice.
Humanity. We believe that humanity was created in the image of God. Tempted by Satan, man rebelled against God and thereby became estranged from his maker, subject to divine wrath, inwardly depraved and apart from grace, and incapable of returning to God. Fallen and lost, humanity can obtain salvation and spiritual life only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit.
Salvation. We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification for salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus, become children of God. We believe that salvation is provided solely by his grace though faith in Christ Jesus.
Sanctification. We believe that the Holy Spirit is the agent in our sanctification and He seeks to produce His fruit in us as we are conformed to the image of Christ. As we are led by the Spirit, we grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord, freely keeping His commandments and endeavoring to live in the world so that all people may see our good works and glorify our Father who is in Heaven.
Sacraments We believe that water Baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances to be observed by the church during the present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as a means to salvation.
Church. We believe that the true Church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church and that every local church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs.
Consummation. We believe that the consummation of all things includes the visible, personal, glorious, imminent return of Christ, the resurrection of the dead, the judgment of the just and the unjust and the fulfillment of Christ's Kingdom in the new heavens and the new earth.
Our Values . . .
Scripture. We believe that a church is based upon Biblical foundations. The Holy Bible serves as our standard in living out our lives corporately and individually. Realizing Scripture's priority in the shaping of our faith and lives, CCFC provides expository preaching and Sunday Bible studies. Through the weekly sermons and lessons on the Sabbath, we are trained in how to interpret God's Word and to discern its deeper meaning for our daily lives.
Worship and Prayer. Worship and prayer are central to the life of our church because our God is worthy of praise. Through our open, contemporary form of worship, we hope to provide an atmosphere of praise and prayer that allows us to fully experience the grace and power of the Holy Spirit. We are committed to a life of individual and corporate prayer through regular prayer meetings.
Community. The body of Christ is called to have full and deep relationships, providing love and accountability. We want to manifest the body of Christ in all of its diversity and to foster a genuine Christ-centered, loving community
Witness. The members of our church want to bear witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ in our daily words and actions. We are called to testify to the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Racial Reconciliation We seek to be a community that fully reflects the beautiful diversity of races, ethnicities, cultures, and nationalities in the Cambridge/Boston area. We are called to be a racially reconciled community, seeking racial justice in our relationships within the church and in the world.
Social Justice & Urban Ministry. Being called to be the prophetic voice of God in proclaiming His justice, our church serves the urban community. We are committed to urban ministry -- to meeting the spiritual and material needs of our immediate community as well as the wider needs of the Boston area.
World Missions. As commanded by our Lord, we believe in spreading the gospel of our Savior, Jesus Christ, to the ends of the earth. We are committed to sending and supporting missions throughout the world.
Our Vision . . .
Cambridge Community Fellowship Church is a dynamic community in which the Holy Spirit transforms individuals into wholeness in Christ and restores His people to right relationships. This living Body of Christ seeks the shalom of God's Kingdom in the world through reconciliation and justice.
